Anatomy of the eye: interactive tool

Description

This interactive tool is available on the Robert Schuman Hospitals health platform www.acteurdemasante.lu and aims to make learning about the anatomy of the eye both fun and instructive for enthusiasts, students and health professionals alike. Designed by the medical team at the National Specialised Ophthalmology Service, it offers an immersive experience that lets you visually explore the different structures that make up the eye, from the outer layers, such as the cornea and sclera, to the inner parts, such as the retina and optic nerve. For each zone, you’ll find detailed information and explanations of the common diseases that can affect it, such as cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration. This interactive tool has been designed to help everyone gain a better understanding of the complex workings of the human eye and the associated health challenges.

Added value

This project represents a significant step forward in medical training and awareness-raising in ophthalmology. By combining interactive teaching resources with scientifically rigorous content, it makes learning more engaging and accessible for a wide range of audiences, from healthcare professionals and students to people who want to understand more about their own eye health. Thanks to its visual and intuitive approach, this tool encourages greater retention of anatomical and pathological knowledge, making it easier raise awareness of eye health issues. It also offers simplified access to high-quality information, helping to share essential knowledge and prevent eye diseases more effectively.

Status

The tool went online in October 2024 on the www.acteurdemasante.lu platform.
