Artificial Intelligence-assisted detection and quantification of brain lesions in CT and MRI scans

Description

This technology makes it possible to carry out analyses of cerebral volumetry and to detect and quantify cerebral lesions (trauma, MS, dementia, vascular pathologies) in CT and MRI scans using artificial intelligence-based algorithms.

Added value

The ability to automatically provide quantitative information on cerebral or pericerebral lesions that is not accessible to the human eye alone by using artificial intelligence.

Status

This technology was financed by the FHRS, purchased and put into operation in September 2023.

"With this technology, we can carry out in-depth analysis of brain volumetry and identify lesions such as trauma, multiple sclerosis, dementia and vascular pathologies from CT and MRI data using artificial intelligence algorithms. These analyses provide automatic quantitative information on lesions, surpassing the capabilities of human observation."
Paolo Sana
Head of Medical Imaging Department
"This revolutionary advance makes it possible to automatically obtain quantitative information about brain lesions, offering inestimable technological value that exceeds the capabilities of human observation."
